Not all funeral directors are the same. Many firms are no longer family owned.  Whilst they may retain the family name, they are in fact owned by large funeral companies.

I am the only joiner, builder and funeral director in South Ribble still a practicing and fully independent firm, who together with my 2 daughters, son and grandson, are proud to remain so.

My own shire horses can be used to transport your loved ones, as part of our funeral services.

Whilst I am a Funeral Director myself, you are of course welcome to use your own family firm if you so wish. 

You will find that we offer far more flexibility for families than a traditional Churchyard or Crematorium and naturally will do our best to accommodate any special requests you may have.  We hold funerals 6 days a week

The Coroner and Lancashire County Council are bringing new regulations in regarding sudden or unexplained deaths, where in each Council District (for example South Ribble District) only one large firm will be allowed to remove your loved one, at no cost to yourselves. This will not stop you from using your own Funeral Director and you should always ring them as soon as possible, so they can take over on your behalf. Please do not be put under any pressure at this vulnerable time. You always have the freedom to choose your own funeral director, even with this change.
